Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Requirements

Accidents in most cases are preventable. To make this point, think back to your last mishap or recall someone receiving an injury. With hindsight you will likely be able to think of a way of doing the same activity in way which would have prevented that injury from occurring.

The safe way of doing a task should be evident in the way you do your job. It should be reflected in your daily activities. This may mean doing things more thoughtfully rather than doing the just the same as you have done in the past. Sometime this may require a slower but safer method, the price paid is well worth its value as it could save a life and that life may be yours.

OH&S requirements are policies and procedures put in place to advise everyone of their responsibilities, in keeping the workplace, tasks and machinery safe in accordance with Australian Standards. Successful management of OH&S risks requires everyone in the supply chain to play their part. Everyone’s broad responsibilities are described in the OH&S Act 2004.
