Operators Environmental Responsibilities

As the operator of the machine, you must observe and adhere to all Forest Owner, Industry and Organisations Policies & Procedures wherever the environment is being impacted by machines.

The coupe plan provided by the forest owners for your work site will show all exclusion zones, access tracks and traffic direction, where log dumps can be built and all hazards and hazardous areas are clearly identified.

It is your responsibility to observe the weather conditions and terrain in which you are working in, and make appropriate decisions as work progresses.

Stream flow and water catchment areas are to be maintained at all costs.

If weather conditions change, you may have to alter your work patterns.

If conditions become critical such as deep rutting and water flowing down wheel tracks, operation must stop, and the appropriate personnel notified immediately of the issues.

Extensive penalties will be incurred to offending personnel for breach of environmental policies & procedures. Your reputation as a responsible machine operator is also at stake.
