Emergency Procedures

Emergency procedures and practices are often overlooked or ignored until something goes wrong.

Emergency procedures will be covered as part of your induction, however you have a duty to make sure that you understand what is required of you in an emergency.

The two main emergency situations that you may be involved in during forest operations are fire and injuries, or accidents involving workers.

Because of the remote locations of many operations, quick action in emergency situations is very important.

Below (Fig 35) is an example of a sign used to indicate an assembly point.
