Worker Inductions

Forestry work can be high risk work, and even more so for new workers.

When you first start work or transfer to a new job, your employer must give you an induction specific to your work environment.

The induction should cover things such as OH&S regulations and requirements, tasks and tools, and the equipment and machines that you operate.

A record of your induction training should be recorded and kept by your employer.

If you are not sure about any part of your job, ask you employer and supervisor for a demonstration or more information.

You should talk to your supervisor or leading hand regularly to reinforce your understanding of correct procedures and operation of equipment or machinery.
