Other Operators and visitors

Most forest operations will attract visitors such as machinery sales people, forest owners and others who are interested to see how a harvesting operation works.

These people should all be accompanied by someone who knows the site, and they should be inducted or signed in before they enter.

If any people on foot approach the machine, you need to stop operating and shut down the machine until they are a safe distance away.

It is possible that people may enter the site to have a look without authorisation.

If you see these people, you should make them aware of correct sign in requirements and then ask them to leave the site, or contact your supervisor.

It is important that you are aware of all people who are on site at all times so that you can look out for them when operating with low visibility from your machine (Fig 63).
